
Amrit Sidhu

Amrit is a Senior Strategist who has been with Grassroots Solutions since May 2021. She brings over 10 years of experience in strategic campaign research, coalition building, and labor-community organizing. Since joining the Grassroots Solutions team, Amrit has worked across funder evaluations and landscape assessments, including for the Ford Foundation. Prior to joining Grassroots Solutions, Amrit was the Assistant to the Judicial Panel Chairperson at AFSCME, where she coordinated cases, mentored AFSCME labor union leaders on writing decisions, and conducted constitutional research for an internal judicial system. Previously she was a Research Assistant and Organizer for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers where she worked with tradesmen and tradeswomen as a labor researcher to provide support for contract negotiations and worked in the field on new organizing campaigns. She began her career in the labor movement as a Strategic Researcher for the Michigan Nurses Association where she gained insight on the intersection of worker’s rights and public health advocacy.
Amrit is based in Kansas City, MO and holds a law degree from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in New York where she was a Health Law Fellow for three years and received a Citation of Excellence in Health Law. She received her B.S. in Human Biology and a minor in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Go Banana Slugs!
