About Us

Grassroots Solutions is an engagement strategy and evaluation consulting firm, majority-owned by women, with a diverse team based in eight states and the District of Columbia who come from backgrounds in advocacy, organizing, campaigns, and philanthropy. Since our founding in 1999, we have worked with a wide range of philanthropic, electoral, nonprofit, and advocacy organizations in the U.S. and other countries. Our client partnerships are deeply grounded in our experience as both practitioners and evaluators. Our team’s collective experience ranges in scope, geography, and sector, including conducting state-focused organizing and capacity building assessments, providing strategic insight to initiatives and campaigns, acting as long-term learning partners for philanthropies and their collaborators, and conducting large-scale program evaluations.

Our clients are impatient for change in the communities they serve. So are we. To us, evaluation is leverage that helps unstick people and organizations in the face of both complex problems and opportunities. At its most potent, we believe can contribute to the learning necessary to achieve the transformative changes—dismantling structural and systemic racism, realizing a healthy and equitable democracy, focusing climate action on the people most affected, and building power in communities disproportionately affected by generations of economic and other forms of injustice—that we and our clients seek. We are guided by a set of values and commitments that include learning for action, centering people and relationships, and service to equity and justice. We hold ourselves accountable through our interactions with our clients, their collaborators, and each other. In addition, it shapes our contracting processes with subcontractors and vendors, operations, and internal professional development.
